Warning: Starter motors from the 70s are fucking heavy. Good luck installing one by yourself while working under a car on crappy jack stands.

as are ones for an 88 F-SuperDuty, luckily the truck is tall enough that no jack is required. I had to go through three, because NAPA gave us two duds in a row.

I've only removed one from my Pinto, then I bench-pressed the 4-speed off the cross member so that it could be removed. Hooray for 40 year old gear oil in my face!

I had to change one on my old 75 Suburban by myself. It was going swimmingly until the wrench slipped and pinged the frame awakening a million baby spiders from their slumber, which quickly enveloped my forearm.

Don't be a puss, I picked up the front of my whole Trans Am* and rolled it around my garage BY HAND.
*shell only, including windshield, back glass, rear axle w/tires, and not much else. Plus there was nothing from the firewall forward. It actually lifted quite easily.
